The word strength is on my mind today. I try to listen to the Spirit and go where He leads me in my blog writing. I pray I do that humbly as He wills each day.
We see strength in a lot of things as we live daily. Today we will see God’s strength in His creation as storms come through this afternoon. The weather predictors talk about ‘strong’ storms, tornadoes, strong winds, etc.
There are many areas where strength is needed in this life we live. Strength is needed just to survive most days. Where do people get strength? Is it from exercising and lifting weights? Is it from reading books? Is it from another person?
Maybe.
But the strength we need to live this life comes from the One who created us and all we see. He is in Whom we should find strength. Anything else will be burned up one day. Anyone else will leave us either by dying or some other way. He is where to find strength and self-worth.
One of my favorite scriptures is Isaiah 40 verses 28-31. Read it slowly catching each word.
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
If we hope in the Lord, He will renew our strength. It doesn’t say He might, maybe. It says He will. It’s a promise.
So, next time you don’t think you have the strength to go on, remember Who is your Creator and Who is giving you strength and self-worth.
