I like the movie Parenthood from 1989 with Steve Martin. As a wife and parent, I can identify. But there is one part I really like where Steve Martin’s character is complaining about how hard life and marriage is. The grandmother hears him and tells him such wise words.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t blog today about the 30th anniversary of my marriage to Chris.
Marriage is hard work. It take a state of mind and commitment knowing you’re not leaving no matter what. Not many people today can say they’ve been married for that long, at least people our age. So many of our family and friends have ended their marriages for one reason or another. That seems to be the norm today.
So to say we’ve survived to this landmark of 30 is a great accomplishment.
It has been quite a ride, but like the grandmother said, I’d rather be on the rollercoaster than on the ferris wheel!
