When we read the Bible, I think we pass over so many things that mean so much more than we know.
For instance, when the Bible says “Lord of Hosts.” The Message translates this as “God of the Angel Armies.” Wow! What a concept!
Sometimes we just read right over that. God of the Angel Armies!
It reminds me of 2 Kings 6 where Elisha prays that king’s servant’s eyes may be opened in order to see the army all over the mountain. God’s army! The army of angels!
Also, when Hannah is praying in the temple for a child in 1 Samuel 1, she uses the name Lord of Hosts. She is praying to the God who controls all creation. He controls every atom and molecule in every living thing! She had faith He would work.
God is so very powerful! No matter what is going on in this world or our lives, He is the Lord of Hosts and the God of the Angel Armies! We need to put all our faith and trust in Him. He only wants what is best for us.
Next time you are reading His word, listen and look closely, for He is talking. The God of the Angel Armies!
