Years ago when it first came out, we watched the show Twin Peaks. It is very deep and dark telling the story of a town where a teenage girl was murdered. There is one scene that still haunts me. A demon-possessed man is crawling after a woman.
I don’t like to see those kind of things. While I know people can be really evil, I don’t believe we can be possessed by evil spirits anymore. I don’t like to see pictures or drawings of anything like that.
I think we all need to be more aware of what we see and hear. In Philippians 4 Paul says,
Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
And I know demons roam around doing the will of satan. Do you think they are able to show themselves? How much power do they have? How do we resist their evil plans?
Only with God’s help. I believe prayer strengthens the protectors we have from God.
We cannot see the spiritual war going on around us unless God chooses to show us.
Perhaps we have seen angels. The Bible says so in Hebrews 13:2. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Pray to God to help strengthen our side of the war. Be aware of your surroundings and the people you meet. Be strong in the Lord. And…
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see. Oh, be careful little feet where you go. Oh, be careful little hands what you do. The Father up above is looking down in tender love.
Very well said, Laurel. Spiritual warfare is something I’ve only seriously realized in recent years and I’ve been putting my thoughts & activities through the Phil 4:8 “filter” more consciously. It truly helps me to focus on the things of God and resist the worldview. Thank you for sharing a great topic today!
