Have you ever had a friend experiencing a bad time and “I know” were the words you said to them? Or perhaps you’ve been the one going through tough times and “I know” was what someone said to you?
Maybe your doctor has said that you need to have surgery. He tells you it is a ‘routine procedure.’ Sure! For him it may be, but he’s not the one that will be cut on, in pain, or have to do the rehab. He doesn’t ‘know’ unless he’s had that same procedure too.
We don’t and they don’t always ‘know.’ Unless we’ve had that exact experience, it isn’t known.
But there is One who does know. He knows our pain, physical, emotional, and especially spiritual. He can identify. He’s experienced it Himself and He can feel ours with us because He is all-powerful and all-knowing.
We can talk to family and friends. We can tell them our woes, but they aren’t going to ‘know’ like Jesus does.
