I love to read! I teach library and computer at a private school in Spring Hill, TN, and I often tell the students reading can take them places.
During this quarantine, reading is vital. Since we are not supposed to go anywhere except essential places like the grocery store, reading can pass the time and take us places!
Thankfully, there are many options for online reading if you don’t have any physical books. We can read anywhere especially outside!
Of course the most important book to read is God’s word, The Bible. This is a great time to start a new reading plan, catch up on daily reading, or just spend time with God.
Do you write in your Bible? Do you put little side notes or highlight a special verse? Do you think it’s okay to do that to God’s word? I do!
There is another book that is second only to the Bible. We cannot write in it or highlight anything or even read it yet, only God can. He is the owner. He’s had this book since the beginning of Creation. It is The Book of Life.
In Exodus 23, God says whoever of the Israelites has sinned, He will blot out of His book. David knew of the Book of Life in Psalm 69. Paul knew of it in Philippians 4, and we see it in the Revelation many times. The Lamb is the only One who can open it.
Revelation 21:27 says we cannot enter Heaven unless our names are written there. We want God to write in this book! I want my name to be written there by God’s hand and maybe He’s used His highlighter!
I am confident it is there but only by God’s grace. Only because He sees me through the blood of His Son, Jesus, is my name beautifully written there by God’s hand!
Is your name there? Are you sure?
