Have you ever thought about all the animals and plants God has given us to eat? Some of those are considered delicacies like shrimp.
There are many ways to cook shrimp. Thankfully, we can buy them already beheaded and deveined. I have fond memories of eating a plateful of peal-and-eat boiled shrimp with my Daddy.
Did you know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?
Think about that for a minute.
Funny that we don’t eat the head. Most of the time it is removed before cooking.
So many times I have trouble separating my heart and my head. I wish I could remove one or the other when an important decision needs to be made. When somethings happens, good or bad, what comes first? Heart or head? Emotions or thoughts? Which is most important?
We are all different, and some are better able to separate hearts and minds. There are occasions where the heart and mind should be apart, but there are times when they both need to be considered.
When it comes to knowing God and loving Him, does the heart or head come first? Are they both together in making a decision to follow Him? If our hearts aren’t broken for God, knowing we are sinners, then how can we really love Him?
