As I sat in the doctor’s waiting room yesterday, I couldn’t help wonder is this the new normal? Temperature taken at the door upon entry. Masks required. Questions answered like do I have my taste and smell, have I been around anyone with the virus, etc.
So, as we all sat in the waiting room, social distancing of course, the TV running the hospital channel all about COVID 19, I wondered again if everyone was thinking the same thing as me?
Is this the new normal?
Then, in came a young man, probably in his 20’s, in a wheelchair being pushed by an older man I assumed was his father.
It kind of put things in perspective for me. I could tell the young man was in pain. In hearing them talk, they mentioned his spine and discs. He sat forward making sure his back never touched the back of the wheelchair.
As I sat there thinking, I was reminded of 1 Peter 1:6.
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.
As my perspective changed watching that young man, I thought about ‘for a little while.’ Because we all have, are, or will suffer, at least for a little while.
But let our perspective be…..there is wonderful joy ahead!
