It’s hard to believe my Daddy will have been gone 10 years this September. In some ways it seems like yesterday. He taught me many things. Things I needed to know for life. How to check the oil in my car. How to change a flat tire. Life lessons.
But one thing I remember he taught me was not to worry. He never said the words, but looking back at the years I had with him, I can’t ever remember seeing him worry. We had a lot of issues as most families do, but I don’t remember him worrying over us.
Instead, I think he prayed. He prayed for his wife, his son, and his 3 daughters. He took his worries to the One who he knew could handle it all.
Jesus told us not to worry in Matthew 6. If God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
My Daddy knew today’s trouble were enough for today. Although I don’t always live us to it, I am thankful for learning that lesson.
This song reminds me of him. Don’t you worry child!
