As a mom and former teacher, I know how hard it can be to teach kids of any age how to whisper. It seems they cannot grasp how to make their voices that low raspy, quiet sound.
However, I know many adults, myself included, that don’t always know how to listen for whispers.
I’m not talking about when a person whispers in our ears. Instead, it’s the whisper that comes from God.
That whispering hope…
Soft as the voice of an angel
Breathing a lesson unheard
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word
Wait ’til the darkness is over
Wait ’til the tempest is done
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow
After the darkness is gone
If in the dusk of the twilight
Dim be the region afar
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glimmering star
Then when the night is upon us
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over
Watch for the breaking of day
Whispering hope
Oh, how welcome Thy voice
Making my heart
In its sorrow rejoice (song by Jim Reeves)
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow! Hope for Heaven awaits!
Listen for that hope today. He will whisper it to you!
