What happened? Where did it go?
I think these are questions we all ask ourselves when we reach a certain age. What happened? How did I get to be 55? Where did the time go? How did it go by so quickly?
Would you go back if you could? Impossible of course, but I would only go back if I could take all I know with me. I’d change some decisions, try to make things better, and do things better than I did the first time around.
If you’re my age, most likely you remember the cop turned singer, Eddie Money. There’s a song he sang called I Want to go Back. He hears a song on the radio that makes him remember and he wants to go back. “I want to go back and do it all over, but I can’t go back, I know.”
That’s us sometimes. We want to go back and have a do-over. I wonder why God gave us the ability to remember it all. Why can’t we just remember the good times only and forget the bad things?
“I know things will never be the same now.” Things are always changing, especially time.
If I had a chance to say something to the young people out there, I’d say make decisions that you’ll never regret. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Make the most of today.
You can’t go back.
