Beginnings

In past posts I have talked about change. How hard it can be, but also how exciting it can be.

One of the changes going on right now some of you may not know about is my job. I “retired” from Ezell-Harding when our youngest daughter graduated in 2018. I didn’t work last year (at least to earn any money!), and it was nice to be able to take the year off.

This year God has opened a door for me to teach at Columbia Academy Spring Hill. I’ll be teaching library and technology part time. I have always considered teaching to be a mission field. We all know how hard being a kid can be. Sometimes they just need someone to listen to them. I am looking forward to getting to know the students and my coworkers!

One thing I and I’m sure all other teachers covet is your prayers at this time of year. Even if you don’t have a child or grandchild in school, you can still pray! Pray for the teachers; pray for the students; pray for the parents; pray for the school administrators; pray for the bus drivers; pray for the cafeteria workers; pray for the custodial workers. There are many aspects that make a school work for which to pray!

Thank you in advance for your prayers!

  1. Congratulations Laurel. I know you will be a wonderful addition to Columbia Academy Faculty. How is your mother doing?
