Waiting is hard. Sometimes it’s the hardest thing we have to do in our lives. I think we spend a lot of our time waiting. We wait for people, for that job promotion, for our food to be ready, for 5 o’clock. I’m sure you can think of many more.
For what or on whom are you waiting right now? I am waiting to be whole again. I had some surgery last Friday and am waiting for my body to heal. Life has a way of saying slow down and learn to wait.
What about patience? I learned a long time ago not to pray for patience. I can’t help but cringe when others pray for patience in a prayer where I am participating. Praying for patience isn’t a bad thing, but I know how God allows us to obtain patience through tribulations.
Through all the waiting, remember to be thankful. No matter how long we wait or how bad things get, there is always something for which to be thankful. Remember also to have faith in the waiting. We don’t always know what God is doing in making us wait, but we have to trust Him.
Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
So needed this today! Thank you!
